Chocolate Christmas Bark

This festive treat can come straight from fridge to table on a board to break into pieces, or packaged up and gifted to teachers, friends and family.

Ingredients
Shopping List
  • 4x 180g bars of milk, dark or white chocolate
  • 3 tsp cashous or sprinkles
  • 1/3 cup freeze dried raspberries or strawberries, crushed
  • 1/3 cup pistachios, crushed
  • 1/4 cup coconut flakes
  • 6 candy canes, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup pretzels
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows
Method
1

Place a glass or metal bowl over a partially filled saucepan of water. Make sure the bowl fits snuggly at the top suspended without touching the water below.

2

Put the stove on low and break up all the chocolate into pieces and drop into bowl. Allow chocolate to melt whilst stirring.

3

Meanwhile, line a 20 x 30 cm oven tray with baking paper.

4

When the chocolate is fully melted, pick up the bowl with tea towel and wipe condensation off the bottom. Tip chocolate into the lined tray, scraping down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Use the spatula to smooth the chocolate evenly over the pan.

5

Sprinkle ingredients over top and leave for a few hours in the fridge to set. Cut and serve.

Notes

Tip: this can be fun to decorate with kids! It can also be made healthier by swapping out candy canes and marshmallows with other festive things such as dried cranberries, extra coconut, pepitas and almonds.
